Acupuncture
Acupuncture is the traditional Chinese form of medicine that uses applied pressure points throughout the body. The Chinese belief is that a person’s well-being is a result of a balance between the positive forces (Yin) and negative forces (Yang) within the body.
Western medicine now accepts the use of this 6000 year old approach to healing and well being. Research has shown that acupuncture alters body functions by stimulating the nervous system.
Acupuncture works naturally and can be used by your physiotherapist alongside other treatment techniques. Most musculoskeletal problems can be treated with acupuncture. The acupuncture needles are very fine and often hardly felt when inserted. Physiotherapists practice the highest standards of medical hygiene and only use sterile, disposable needles.
